Container

The Container project involved a six-sided standing sculpture designed in AutoCAD and assembled with laser-cut wood faces. Required to stand on at least one face, pieces could be cut only on a quarter-inch grid matrix, and only in straight lines. Junctions were created in a male-female format. From an artistic perspective, my goal was to create a container that utilized negative space to break up the container into visually bite-size pieces. I like to imagine that this composition would make for a fun jungle-gym if it were blown to scale!
